Veteran Tribute Support

The Saratoga Ladies

We provide final tributes at Veteran interments in Saratoga National Cemetery.

We are an independent, all-volunteer community of women offering a final tribute to our fallen Veterans during interment services at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. We represent the Capital Region civilian community standing as a silent witness during Military Funeral Honors and offer our personal condolences in presenting a final tribute to the Veteran’s family.

The Arlington Ladies were the initial volunteer women’s group to attend Veteran’s interments at Arlington National Cemetery in 1948. Following this model, three other women’s organizations currently perform similar volunteer services among the 155 Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemeteries.

Hear from those we have served

  • “I see a loving, caring group of ladies who will add a touch of compassion felt in a different way then by a hand salute, a volley of rifle fire, a few spent shells, or a folded flag. The family will expect that from Military Funeral Honors, but a softer touch of compassion will leave them feeling something much different. Loss of a loved one is so numbing and filled with many emotions. To look into one’s eyes and see, and feel, and understand their loss will mean much more than anything else experienced that day. The Saratoga Ladies will be successful and bring the committal service at the Saratoga National Cemetery full circle with military funeral honors and the much-needed loving touch of kindness. Very much looking forward to having The Saratoga Ladies become a valuable member of our team!”
